P.A. Fisker, the founder of Nilfisk-Advance, was an electrical engineer who loved working with electrical motors. Starting the company in the year 1906, he started to produce motors so as to drive drills, fans, machine tools and coffee grinders. Mr. Fisker's vision from the beginning was to have a global business marketing merchandise globally.

The Nilfisk C1 was an incredible breakthrough for the cleaning industry. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed just 17.5 kilos and can be operated by a single person. This invention came in a time where various cleaning machines were very big and required 4 or more operators, therefore, the Nilfisk C1 transformed everything and evolved the way we clean forever. The genius behind these very first cleaning machines remains unparalleled. Cleaning equipment offer an excellent solution to an existing dilemma; things get dirty and have to be cleaned frequently, without too much effort.

Slowly, the company Nilfisk-Advance grew throughout the years. During the early 1980's the company grew fast when the business became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they concentrated on driving Nilfisk-Advance ahead within the industry, trying to be an active worldwide player in manufacturing professional cleaning machines. Nilfisk-Advance is presently found in all parts of the world due to gradually acquiring numerous smaller businesses in order to grow their product portfolio and presence in new markets.
